Free MCBoot allows for other homebrew applications to be installed and run onto the memory card or a hard drive (if installed) such as HDLoader or Open Playstation Loader (OPL - which can also move (ISO) files over a network), Simple Media System (SMS - which allows the playing of mp3's and DivX streams), Graphic Synthesizer Mode Selector (GSMS - Tool to upscale game video output to HDMI (if the game supports it)) and SNES Station - (A SNES emulator). I recommend that potential buyers use the internet and with the use of a search engine do some research on the applications HDLoader and OPL as well as the other supporting applications that gives a PS2 so much clout. HDLoader and OPL are awesome applications and I think that the PS2 did not reach its potential as a result without them. Free MCBoot, HDLoader and OPL gives you the ability to play your favourite PS2 games without wear or damage to your discs and prolongs the life of your optical drive laser, very much the same way as Sony are pushing for digital downloads of games nowadays. HDLoader allow the transfer of ONLY GENUINE media games to a hard disk drive fitted to a PS2 - it refuses to install from copied media. OPL is not even capable of the installation of games onto a hard disk drive via the dvd drive although it facilitates the playing of games from a hard disk drive fitted in a PS2 or ISO's from a USB stick or network file transfer as well as the awesome functionality of having virtual memory cards (VMC). It's such a pity that Sony were keen to push out the PS3 for the consumer market when the PS2 still has plenty of potential and poke in it to do much the same.
